Terms of Service

1Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Cobinar's identity platform, Cobinar Mail, the developer platform, and related services (together, "Cobinar"). By creating an account, or by using Cobinar to sign into a third-party app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Cobinar.

2What Cobinar is

Cobinar is an identity provider — one account lets you sign in across Cobinar's own products and any third-party app or game that supports "Sign in with Cobinar," using standard OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect. Cobinar also provides Cobinar Mail (an email address and inbox tied to your account) and a developer platform that lets other developers register their apps to use Cobinar sign-in.

3Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to create a Cobinar account (see the Privacy Policy's Children's Privacy section for the reasoning here)
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• Each person may maintain one personal Cobinar account, unless we've explicitly agreed otherwise (e.g., for organizational or developer use)
• You're responsible for ensuring your use of Cobinar complies with the laws that apply to you

4Your account & responsibilities

• You're responsible for all activity under your account, and for keeping your password and 2FA methods secure
• Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• You're responsible for the content you send through Cobinar Mail and for keeping your profile information accurate
• You can delete your account at any time from Accounts → Privacy — see the Privacy Policy for what that removes

5Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Cobinar for anything illegal, fraudulent, or that infringes someone else's rights
• Send spam, malware, or abusive content through Cobinar Mail
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or to Cobinar's systems
• Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on Cobinar's infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or bypass Cobinar's authentication or rate-limiting mechanisms
• Create accounts through automated means without our permission, or impersonate another person

6Connecting third-party apps

When you use "Sign in with Cobinar" for another app, you're authorizing that app to receive the specific information shown in the consent screen at that time. Cobinar isn't responsible for how a third-party app subsequently handles the information it receives — that's governed by that app's own terms and privacy policy, which we'd encourage you to review. You can revoke any app's access at any time from Accounts → Linked apps.

7Developer terms

If you register an app on Cobinar's developer platform, you additionally agree to:

• Complete Cobinar's developer verification ("KYD") process accurately before requesting sensitive scopes or going live
• Only request the OAuth scopes your app actually needs, and use the data you receive only for the purposes disclosed to your users
• Keep your OAuth client credentials confidential, and tell us promptly if they're compromised
• Comply with any published API rate limits and usage guidelines
• Not use Cobinar's sign-in system to build a competing identity platform, or to harvest user data beyond what's needed for your app's stated purpose

We may suspend an app's access to Cobinar sign-in if it violates these terms, misuses granted scopes, or creates risk for Cobinar users.

8Intellectual property

Cobinar and its logos, design, and branding are the property of Cobinar. These Terms don't grant you any rights to Cobinar's intellectual property beyond what's needed to use the service as intended. You retain ownership of the content you create or send through Cobinar (such as emails sent via Cobinar Mail); by using the service you grant Cobinar the limited permissions needed to store, transmit, and display that content back to you as part of providing the service.

9Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for Cobinar or other users, or if required by law. Where practical, we'll try to notify you and explain why. You may stop using Cobinar and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (like §8 and §11) will continue to apply.

10Disclaimers

Cobinar is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep it secure and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent the law allows.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cobinar won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including damages arising from a third-party app's handling of information it received through Cobinar sign-in.

12Changes to these terms

We'll update the date at the top of this page when these Terms change. For material changes, we'll also notify you directly (such as by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect. Continuing to use Cobinar after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
